About

Endurance Marine Surveying NQ

The name Endurance reflects one of the strongest wooden vessels ever built for polar service, specifically designed and constructed to withstand the extreme pressures of Antarctic ice. With a heavily reinforced hull, cross‑braced structure, and robust materials, the ship embodied strength, durability, and resilience in the harshest marine environments.

Endurance Marine Surveying draws on this legacy—representing a commitment to structural integrity, rigorous assessment, and the highest standards in evaluating whether a vessel is truly capable of performing under demanding conditions.

EMS NQ is a local Townsville-based business established by experienced Vessel Master and Marine Engine Driver Neil Wilkinson in 2025. In addition to more than 30 years of experience as a seafarer, as well as driving and maintaining a wide range of vessels around Australia, Neil holds qualifications in recreational marine surveying from the Australian Institute of Marine Surveyors.

Neil is a vessel owner himself and understands the needs of boat owners and the challenges that can be faced in their operation and maintenance.
